Terms and information:
Route Type: A destination would consist of a ride to a specific location while a loop would have a different return route.
Time to Complete Ride: A general timeframe to complete the ride based on an average / typical rate of speed.
Scenery:
Historical: Routes along or to locations of historical interest.
Coastal: Routes along coastal roads or with ocean views.
Canyons: Routes through canyons, valleys, or gorges with steep cliff walls.
Urban: Routes through cities or densely populated areas.
Lakes: Routes along lake shoreline or with lake views.
Open Desert: Open desert.
Mountains: Routes through or over mountain terrain.
Rural: Routes through open country or sparsely populated areas.
River: Routes along river shoreline or that follow river paths.
Forest: Routes through or along forests.
Farmlands: Routes through or along open farmland
Plains: Routes through open plains or broad unobstructed stretches of land.
Hazards:
Seasonal: Date or weather related.
Gravel or Sand: Dirt, rocks, sand, etc due to local environment or traffic control procedures.
Animals: Deer, livestock, etc., due to open ranges.
Pedestrians: Joggers, bikers, hikers, etc
Foliage: Falling leaves, often seasonal.
Ride Name / Hwy #: A brief description of the ride. We recommend using identifiers such as the main roadways, landmarks, or points of interest.
Ride Description: A detailed description of the ride including information that riders unfamiliar with the area may want to know. This may include tips on where to stop, road characteristics, weather & temperature patterns, toll amounts, or relevant links (paste URL).
Picture of ride: Share a picture of the ride, the terrain, the roads, or a self portrait to show you were there.
Google Maps Link or Route Description: Either paste a link to a google map of your ride (see tutorial on how to use systems like Google maps) or just provide detailed directions. Rides should originate from the closest major city.
Approximate Miles: The length of the ride in miles (will be automatically converted to kilometers). This information can be obtained automatically on Google Maps or any road map software. For destination rides provide mileage one way. For loops provide the total mileage.
Submitted By: Provide a name or an alias if you want credit for the ride submission. This is optional and will just be listed as anonymous if not provided.
Email Address: Optional. WE WILL NOT SELL OR PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION TO ANY 3RD PARTY ORGANIZATION.
